When you want to release stress, calm nerves, overcome “stage fright”, give power to your voice, or regain your center. Breathe.

There is no greater advantage to you than that of your breath

Exhalation: An Exercise

  1. Sit upright in a chair. Rest your hands on your thighs.
  2. Breathe deep and just focus on your exhalation.
  3. Allow your body to align itself. Deep breath. Focus on your exhalation.
  4. Emit a slight hissing sound on the exhalation.  Release shoulder tension.

Evaluation:
Did you notice a release of tension on the exhalation and hissing?
When you are experiencing a moment of nerves, remember “when in doubt, breathe out.”
